Original GT Four Carlos Sainz Video

by Neill on June 3, 2009

OK, here’s something I found when clearing out my stash of VHS video cassettes just last month. When the Carlos Sainz GT Four was launched in the UK, they only brought in 500. Each one was numbered and came with a VHS tape and here’s what was on it. It’s mainly footage of a road car on a test track and some short clips of a rally car in Africa. Love the syn-drums and the nineties sound track..
I’m sure I’ve got the accompanying brochure around somewhere too, if I unearth it, I’ll put a quick picture online.

I found the DVD copy I made, the VHS is long gone. Think I know where the brochure is, though I wouldn’t part with it!

Hello again Neil. I own a red CS GT4. Is a nice collectors piece and is currently my pride and joy. Anyhow, would be interested in buying a copy of the the VHS on DVD format along with the brochue. Just missed a sainz brochure on ebay by £1, it sold for £25.01 and I was outbid in the dying seconds to an American fella, very frustrating to say the least as they seem rare indeed. Your brochure and dvd would be going to a very deserving home! Will forward you pictures of my CS if you like, just send me your email. Would be willing to give you a good price for them, so talk to me. P.s how did you come to own them (have you owned a Sainz celica) and where do you live?

Hello again Neil. Was reading up about you from your photography website, very interesting and informative. Im 30 year old guy from Co Tyrone in N. Ireland. Figure money wont make your mind up about selling the brochure but the fact that its going to a permanent good home where it would be highly valued may sway your decision. Seems a shame you have’nt seen it for years, when it could sitting in my CS celica glove box for many fans now and in future years to admire. Let me know your thoughts. P.s does your brochure have a photo of a red sainz with a lightening strike in thr background? Mark.

Hi Mark,

Really sorry for the delay in getting back to you. A shot of your CS would be great, thanks. Email to nw neillwatson dot com. Wouldn’t part with the brochure, but I can get s copy of the footage to you, just drop me a line as above.

I used to be a Toyota sales manager way back, had the Carlos Sainz as my company car for a while. A great product to sell, I consider my self fortunate to have been around at that time – great fun!

That’s the reason for the website, but recently, it’s had tumble weed blowing through it – been too busy! Will be changing that soon.

Thanks for the comments.
