Acrtic Trucks in the Antarctic
If you’re into cars, I’m sure you saw the Top Gear Special about driving to the magnetic North Pole in a Hi Lux. You probably also knew that the trucks were prepared by Arctic Trucks of Iceland and they’ve featured in Mr Clarkson’s excapades in the past – remember inflating punctured tyres with lighter fluid?
But I bet you didn’t know about Arctic Trucks’ trek to the South Pole last year as
support vehicles for the Amundsen South Pole Race?
The race takes place each year and features teams taking up the challenge to
race to the South Pole
Arctic Trucks supplied the Hi Lux support vehicles that kept the challenge running, claiming they were chosen over traditional snow mobile because of their superior load carrying ability, versatility and lowrer emmissions. I expect that they’d be ever so slightly more comfortable too…
